In a TV discussion, someone said "Oh, this is all, how many angels dance on the head of a pin. We are beyond that". Hell, I missed the resolution- How many was it?

God even has good advice for stuff like this:

2Ti 2:23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.

How could anybody doubt that this sage advice comes straight from the mouth of God?

I think they were stating that that statement is a bit old hat and life is just SOOOOOooooo much more sophisticated than that now (Note the sarcasm).
