Got one picked out from each group.....SUV, Truck, or Car.... just not sure which one of those would be best to buy. Details below.

Be used for everyday driving to store and work, some daily trips and some longer trips and destinations, and vacations. Tad bit better gas mileage in the car but the truck has room for storage and the truck and suv can tow if down the road i decide to purchase a boat. Just stuck here not sure what to buy so any advice would really help.

don't forget you can pull smaller boats with cars too, just make sure it has a V-6, a large sedan sounds like it would be best for you

For the uses that you have stated, your best option is an SUV, no question, and here's why.

A car is great for traveling and for in-town commuting, but isn't going to be able to pull anything without risking damage to the transmission....passenger cars just aren't meant for towing despite the fact that many people do it.

A truck will pull just fine, but on long trips it will be very uncomfortable as it is not designed to be a touring vehicle and has a suspension, etc. designed for carrying loads, not for comfort. And in town, they are harder to park, and have limited inside space.

The SUV takes the best of both types and combines them into one vehicle. The interior is roomy enough to be comfortable on trips, and there is enough cargo space for all the short-hop trips to the store, picking up kids, etc., plus it is built to tow moderate weights, like an average boat or camper. Plus, they are usually no worse on gas than a large pickup or luxury car. You can get SUV's in 6 & 8 cylinder models (I recommend 8 for towing), and there are even hybrid SUV's coming onto the market.

I personally own a Dodge Durango, and feel it's the most versatile vehicle I've ever owned.

Based on what you've said, I'd go with the SUV.

I have owned a Ford Escort 1984 car, 1968 Dodge Dart car, 1984 Nissan Light duty truck, 1989 Dodge Dakota medium duty truck, and a 2004 Jeep, Out of all These the 84 Ford had the most recall issues stupid thing I hated it. the 89 Dodge had a transmission problem sold it, the 68 is on its second rear axle 3rd motor, and 4th? transmission and is currently in "the shop" awaiting repair. The Nissan light truck I owned taught 2 teenagers to drive a clutch assisted stick and got driven daily on a paper route a about 700-1,000 miles a week before it gave out, the last one I got was the 04 jeep. I like my jeep it does my paper route, a near daily commute 30-40 miles one way 5 passenger seat belts; actually spends more time on the road than in the shop and with about 20-25 miles per gallon mile-age not bad; most heavier duty trucks and some SUV's turn green from envy of that kinda mile per gallon fuel rating.

I like my Ford Sport Trac. You get the comfort of a SUV and the look of a truck. But this truck has better gas mileage, 4L V6. It will pull your boat no problem and still has room for 5 passengers. The gas mileage won't be as great as one of those little hybrid cars, but the smooth ride makes up for it. I've never regretted this purchase as it is a multi-functional vehicle. Take a look and decide for yourself.

whatever you decide to purchase, keep this in mind..."You get what you pay for!!!"

I purchased a brand new Saturn Vue...and it was comparably cheap to ther SUVs, but there's a reason why...Saturn cars and trucks are inhenrently defective...I found this out the hard way...so if you want to avoid headaches...buy expensive and dependable brands.

Explorer or Trailblazer are cool and good. If not a Sierra or a F150.
