Some are. Some are not. It depends on the person. Just like some Christians are tolerant and some are not. Or how some Muslims are tolerant and some (most) are not. Or how some people are tolerant and some are not. It has nothing to do with whether or not they are Atheist. Although, based on the people on this site, it is easy to imagine that no one is tolerant.

Depends on the person.

I dont really know if i'm an atheist or not. I wear religious symbols around my neck but i just cant make up my mind about wheater i am an atheist or not.

But i NEVER try to tell people that there is or isnt a god. I respect atheists and i would think that atheist respect theists. Everybody needs to believe in something and if that something is god or satan i respect that. As long as your not hurting enybody and going on some jihad, your religion is your choice and I, or anybody else, has no right to say otherwise.

Many aren't, many are. Fundamentalism and ego abound in all religions and no religion; people's openness and tolerance are the key. If someone labels himself, it's probably not a great idea because once a label is adopted, it becomes an identity and it could lead to both intolerance and inability to question any aspect of one's thought system because of the attachment to it.

In any given group, you have extremists, open-hearted people, and all-around cretins. Atheists subscribe to this too. Are they tolerant of others? Sure! 'Til you ask the Atheist standing next to those Atheists.

They are people, just like the Christian, Jews, Pagans, or whatever. Some are tolerant and others are not. This isn't so much a religious question, but more of human nature.

Based on what I have seen on this site, NO ONE is tolerant of others who do not agree with them. That's so sad!

Some are. Just like some Christians are tolerant when others disagree with them.
You have narrow minded jerks on both sides of that debate and it's sad that the most vocal ones are usually the intolerant ones.

Tolerant? Yep. Ok, sometimes I'm a sarcastic b*tch and I say some snarky things, but I don't think anyones religious persuasions are something they shouldn't have the right to... within the bounds of the law, of course.

All I ask is that any sort of religious behavioral standards, mandotory recognition of a deity and restrictions based on spiritual principal and nothing more NOT be legislated in this secular government.

I think it depends on the person. It seems as those that come on this site arent tolerant, and take pleasure out of putting down religion whenever they get the chance. Although that goes for religions putting other religions down too.

You can't make that generalization. Some are some aren't. Voicing an opinion doesn't make you intolerant though. Viciously attacking some one and being closed minded is intolerant, but if I say I don't think there is any kind of God and religion is a waste, I'm stating an opinion.
