The one you like and that's not a smart *** answer. You can probably get away with a merlot or a pinot noir, or a white wine like a saivagnon blanc, fume, or even a chardonnay. I live and grew up in Napa and I've loved learning about wines and how snobish and closed minded people have been. Wine should be fun. Try the blended wines as well; they're fantastic.

There is no set rules as much as there used to be. Again, the crust and what spices the meat is important as well. If the pork is spicy you may want to get a wine that's somewhat spicy as well to compliment the meat.

You can put the food in and it will give some suggestions. Good luck, dont' be intimidated by wine and remember the most expensive is not always the best. Happy eating and Bon appettit (that was for Julia Childs!)

Try a good white table wine, like Connundrum by Caymus of Napa. It's only around 20 bucks and is better than most 50 dollar bottles. Goes awesome with pork and most chicken dishes.

I does depend on what you are serving with the pork and what you are putting on it. I like a good white wine with mine, but again, if you prefer red wine, then have it. Drink what you enjoy.

Jim K.....Chardonne is a specialty wine from Switzerland. It comes in Red and White. It is completely different from Chardonnay.

Since pork is known as "the other white meat," it is traditionally paired with a white wine. However, since pork does have a higher fat content, like beef, many people actually prefer a red wine pairing.

I would recommend a Pinot Grigio, a Pinot Noir, or even a hearty Cabernet Sauvignon..........the possibilities are endless; however, you really shouldn't pair with a blush or a zinfandel.

To superboredom: Chardonnay (what is chardonne?) is a white wine. Give me the name of your wine class so that I can avoid it.

And choosing a wine has more to do with the way that the meat is prepared and what kind of sauce you serve than the old white wine for chicken or fish vs. red wine for beef argument.

A 1971 Wiltinger Braunfels Kabinet Riesling from the Mosel-Saar- Ruwer region in Germany is the only wine that will do your pork justice.

Or you can have a jug of Turkish Buzbag. yummmmm.

Pork is a savory white meat, therefore you want to pair it with a white. If you grilled it with herbs such as oregano, italian sesoning, or such then you'll want a tangier wine.. such as a sauvignon blanc.. if you top the pork with something a little sweeter such as a fruit or honey based sauce then i recommend a pingo grigio....
