My pastor when he was alive said I may have won alot of arguments in my younger years but I never led anyone to the Lord.
There is too much bashing on this board and in life also.
The Bible says to speak the Truth in love Ephesians 4:15,
It was once said to be if the greatest of these is love See 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 that was is the greatest sin?
I don't bash people because I never liked when it was done to me.

For the millionth time, christians are not the only ones being bashed. Get off your cross. Everybody on this site is met head on with hatred. I'm a Satanic Atheist and I get plenty of it. But I don't whine about it. Wiccans, Pagans,Atheists, Satanists, Agnostics, Hindus, Buddhists, Catholics and christians get it all just the same.
Oh, and yes, I have read both the O.T and the N.T and I feel I have the knowledge to completely discredit it.

It's known as an argument ad hominem (abusive).
SInce the argument may not or cannot be refuted, you discredit the person who is presetning it.
If that person falls, the arguments goes with them.
And it gives many a chance to vent their spleen under the guise of a reasoned argument

Actually, most of us non-believers have studied several religions, especially Christianity quite thoroughly. Many times that's how we came to see how much of a fantasy it really is.
It just re enforces the view that you are ignorant by calling it "bashing." Most of the time, for myself and many of my fellow atheists, what you see as bashing is just our way of trying to help you see how deep in deception you are and how illogical your world view is and how that can harm both yourself and society as a whole (<-- notice, this is not bashing)

Because the history of Christianity is one of intolerance and murder. It is well documented and when people like TV evangelists like Robertson adn Magee preach murder you know things have not progressed much futher. Stating the truth is not bashing.

I think people bash others to feel more important or better about themselves. I'm not saying it's right, there are a lot of ignorant people out there.

honey it's generally the bullies that do this. They bully because they are inadequate in their own eyes. Some are pretty hateful, it's more than bullying for them. They have a big hate, don't know how to raise cain with God, so they attack His children. Atheist nazis so to speak. Ignore them, I know sometimes it fair makes your blood boil, but that's when you pass them by, don't let them drag you down.

I've read the bible, and thus have researched as well as you, and I still think you're wrong. I only give aggresive, "bashing" answers when I am answering a particularly intolerant question.

sounds like someone has a persecution complex.
"CHRISTIANS ARE BEING PERSECUTED"
Ever hear the phrase, "You can dish it out, but you can't take it"? That's what's happening when Fundamentalists use this statement. They have been on the attack for years now, trying to deny rights to homosexuals, trying to outlaw abortions, trying to keep women from obtaining equal rights, and trying to impose their own morals - many of them non-biblical - on the rest of society. Non-Fundamentalists are finally fighting back by speaking out against their campaigns, their media onslaughts, and their mistaken notions of truth, and the Fundamentalists don't like it very much. They can dish it out, but they can't take it. So when people of good conscience stand up for their rights, Fundamentalists cry foul - they claim they are being persecuted.
Fundamentalists see this "persecution" as biblical proof of being on God's side. It's not. Their so-called persecution is merely the rest of society defending itself from their attacks. Their so-called persecution is merely being called to the carpet for their actions. Their so-called persecution comes in the form of editorials that don't paint them in a glowing light or legislation that goes against their made-truths. If they can't get their schools to allow them to pray to their God during class time, they claim they are being attacked. What would happen if Buddhists and Muslims tried to get the same special rights? Fundamentalists would be beside themselves in anger.
This is not the persecution mentioned in the Bible. The leaders of the Christian Coalition are not being hung on crosses (Philippians 2:8). The leaders of the Family Research Council are not being stoned to death (Acts 7:59). The leaders of Focus on the Family are not being thrown to the lions (Daniel 6:16). And yet these people have the gall to claim they are being persecuted in God's name. They are not. All they have to worry about is someone calling them bad names and denying them their request for favoritism.

Christians whine to much. "This movie is to Blasphemous" "This book contains witchcraft, Lets Burn it" "Your religion is wrong, Ours is right" "Put God back in school". They fail to see this is a free country and most of all NOT THEIR EARTH. They bash other religions, So what comes around goes around.
