Religion is an ongoing evolving horror story for children, caused by, and promoted by, religious preachers, teachers and parents. The trouble that religion causes for children is outrageous, but then, God allowed little children slaughtered (Isaiah 13:15-18 according to the Bible) so perhaps religious people think it’s ok for them to abuse children.

Religious Preachers sexually abuse young children nowadays, especially little boys.

Religious Teachers are seeking permission to bypass the law so they can beat students in school because the Bible says "We ought to serve God rather than men".

Religious Parents allow their kids to read the Bible, yet the Bible contains some of the worst hatred, violence, killing, and murders ever witnessed in Humanity.

Religion today is such a disgrace and a sad reflection on humanity, surely there must be a way to convince our children to walk away from this man-made nonsense and look for a better way.

This is one of those postings that is disingenuous as a "question". It is in the form of an assertion. While it is true that many religious teachings are dubious (especially to the ears of the child), there is a great amout of wisdom a child can garner from good and positive religious practice and philosophy (like, that they are unfailingly loved). You confuse the manipulative and organizational and abusive uses of religion with the great validity of religious philosophy, toss them together and indict them both.

And we should teach them about atheism, or perhaps hopelessness, or whatever other non-religion there is? EVERY SYSTEM OF BELIEFS CAN BE CONSIDERED RELIGIOUS. Children can only realize that religion is wrong or right if they understand it before they grow too old to have first hand knowledge of what's going on. And the Bible has never encouraged hatred and slaughtering kids for no reason.

It is a sad event when a child is brainwashed to look to a piece of fiction find answers to life and turn away from logic and reason. This is the start of a discouragement of education.

Sounds like you do not believe in democracy.

In a democracy, parents should have the choice of how to bring up their children; and if this includes religious instruction, then they should have the right to include religious instruction.

Atheist Dictatorships (and Oligatorships) have enforced the kinds of policies that force children to "say no to religion".

Cordially,
John

I think you need to reword that "to should abusive people leave kids alone?" Abusive people come from all sorts of religious and secular cultures, and yes, they should leave kids alone, that's what we have laws for.

But the idea that kids should have nothing to do with religion because of the horrible abusers that sometimes hide behind their cloths isn't right. That's like letting the abusers win, and telling them that their actions were enough to scare us away from the most important thing in our lives. No way!

For what it's worth, in my congregation, no one can teach a children's class alone. There always has to be two adults (usually a husband and wife). That helps keeps the kids safe from any teachers who might be abusers, and the teachers safe from any kids that might make up stories.

best wishes.

People of all cultures abuse children. Neglecting children of Christ is neglecting them of life. With or without religion children are being abused. Just because you choose to be ignorant and refuse to believe, doesn't mean children should.

No,but I'd sure hate for any little ones to be around someone as hate filled as you. You are flat out evil, like something or someone in a thriller. You sound like a spitter, or at least a little bit of a drooler when you get to ranting. Kind of a sicko too.

How about the Government! They do such a good job of controlling us already, maybe they should take our kids!
