Sweetie,
don't cry about it- I know it may seem like he doesn't understand, but take it from me- I've been there and done that- I snuck out and thought that when I couldn't have my way my father didn't understand or he was being mean and nosey and sos on ans so forth, but as I got older and experienced life on my own I saw what he was trying to save me from- the time he was being nice was probably a test of trust- he wanted to see what you would do- you can't get on your father and say he doesn't understand, have you tried to understand him- let him protect you- i thinks you'll appreciate it in the long run

It's going to be ok trust me. Your father is just being over protective which is a good thing because he doesn't want you to get hurt or end up pregnant or dropping out of school or something like that. Fathers are always harder on their daughters. They treat you like a baby and when you become a teenager they still treat you that way. It can be frustrating at times but he only does it because he loves you and he doesn't want to see you get hurt. When a parent doesn't like the crown that you hang with and he won't let you go with them and you sneak out and go anyway, you break that trust. It seems bad now but trust me he is doing this for your good and when you are older you will thank him for it. I'm speaking from experience. Just be obediant and do as he say because you will get more if you obey his rules than trying to break them. You can't see why he is so mean now which really it's not being mean but in the long run you will really appreciate it. God bless you. Just pray and ask God to give your father patience, understanding, and compassion. It will be ok. Let him know how much you love him and appreciate him being your father.

Don't try and "change" any one.. Be true to yourself, be kind and more than anything else... Be confident in knowing that the day WILL come when your father is going to regret his treatment of you and he'll also regret missing out on having to develop a great relationship with you by spending time and energy in things that interest you.

Don't worry, you'll be old enough soon to leave and go out on your own. When you go to college a whole new world will be opened up to you. One day he'll be old or sick.. or both.. he'll have nothing but time to reflect on all the missed opportunties and he'll definitely regret his foolishness.

Until that time... look past his behavior and stop trying so hard to figure out "his" issues, and force on him what should come natural. Contiinue your education, continue to be loving, grow from your experiences, set goals for yourself and take care of you. Be respectful to your dad while your living with him and just move on when the time comes.

What you need to do is talk to him hard if he doesn't wasnt to listen and explain to him that your growing up and you need to start having a life and can't always be stuck at home because he doesn't wanna let you out of the house and some dads are old fashion just try to keep him up with everything just tell him where you wanna go so he knows where your going and with who and what time you will be back you need to gain trust with him without that you have nothing and also ask him why his mood has changed all of a sudden.

YOU "can't" change him so stop trying. ask him to go to counceling with you, if he won't then talk to your school councelor he/she would be the best one to help you if you have no-one else. what about your mother? can she help? do you have a pastor or a trusted family member? it sounds like there are things going on with your dad, you don't know about. stop doing things behind his back, this is wrong and makes things worse between you both and he probably feels like he can't trust you and that you don't respect him, these feelings are probably hard for him to deal with. maybe hes not so scared as you think but loves you so much that he's only trying to protect you. there's nothing wrong with being "old style", its a big bad world out there!! i think he may be upset with you for going behind his back. how would you feel if your child was doing to you what your doing to him?? what changed that made your relationship better?? maybe if you asked him to sit down with you and you asked him to "honestly" tell you what's wrong and ask him what can YOU do to help. its VERY HARD being a parent in today's world, try cutting him some slack. i wish ya'll good luck!!!

I'm sorry that things are like that between you and your dad. But did you ever try tell him how you are feeling? I know you two may be different but communicating is something that we all do, and maybe it may help. There's only one way to find out. If he doesn't change right away give it some time, because if he has been like this for a while, it may take some time for him to do some changing. I hope this helps!

He is doing what he feels is best for you. It would be easy to let you do whatever you wanted but totally irresponsible. Having to say no and then to justify every decision is hard on him and will make him cranky. He doesn't want to be mean to you and you make it harder for him and so he feels awkward. It's a paradox that if you love someone you try to protect them and they may resent it, it you don't care you may put them in harms way and they applaud it - until something bad happens.

I'm sorry you're sad and crying. Your dad sounds like he just cares about you and doesn't want bad things to happen to you. It is very common for kids and parents to fight. When you are in your 20s (or maybe 30s, or maybe never)you'll find a whole new respect for him...unless he just sucks and then you'll be inspired to NOT be like him to your kids. I really don't know you or him so I'm just talking here...
