The B25 Mitchell bomabardiers has a quite a history of missions in WW2 You were supplied you with a pic. of the Messie Bessie & her crew, so I will give you a bit of trivia on these maginifecent machines. They are as follows:
52' 11"-Length.
67" 6"-Wing Span.
17" 7"-Height.
33,510-Loaded Weight.
21,120-Empty Weight.
41,800-Max./kg. of weight.
2x Wright-2600"cyclone" radials- 1,850 HT.
Most B25 Mitchels had a crew of 6-10 men depending on mission & therefore some crew members did double duties.Crew members:
NAV:-Navagation Officer.
BOM:-Bomabadier.
CP:-Copilot.
P:-Pilot.
TG:-Tail Gunner.
TTE:-Top Turret Gunner./Engineer.
LWG:-Left Wing Gunner.
RWG:-Right Wing Gunner.
BTG:-Ball Turret Gunner.
ROG:-Radio Operator./Waist Gunner.
It was very interesting to read the history on these WW2 planes. They were very instrumental in our fight for freedom.
The "Messie Bessie" was accepted into inventory & assigned to the UK on April./15./1943.She had quite a history & some hits & misses during her GLORY YEAR-&1/2. She was salvaged on April./28./1945.
Hope this extra bit of info. helps you.
