Unfortunately bulimia is an eating disorder, not an experiment. Does your daughter seem to skip a few meals only to finally "pig out" when she does eat? Does she keep breath mints or gum around to hide the smell of vomit on her breath? Keep an eye on her eating habits but don't preach to her about it. Find ways to build her self-esteem. If she is overweight have her doctor talk to her about how to lose weight they healthy way. Some girls feel as though the only thing they can control is their eating, she may be doing this to lash out at you for some reason. You may want to talk to her doctor about ways to help her. Good Luck!

I am anorexic. So my signs are not to eat ever when no one is around. And lie when they ask me what I ate. If I start loosing too much weight too fast I wear bigger clothes. It is always 15 min after is the time frame to get it out. That's the min time that you have, after that it starts to dissolve in the stomach acids. Another sign is if you have a low iron level your under part of your eyes will darken. And your tips of your fingers and your feet get cold even if they are in shoes. Headaches will accrue too, Stomach pains from mussel strain or starving it. Get her Help and get it fast. I have control of mine now. I am admitting it. But don't confront her with it until you have the doctors apt. Till then try to go out to eat just you two. And then right after get in the car and drive for at least 20 min. If she starts freaking out cause she has to got to the restroom.Well honey our bladders can hold it for three hours. That is a good sign.

When I first started purging, I would eat with my friends or family and go to the bathroom to purge soon after. I didn't necessarily purge everytime at first. Look for:
watery/red eyes
(If she purges a lot) her cheeks might occasionally swell
look for red marks on her knuckles from her teeth
when she does eat she might eat a lot fairly quickly
does she make excuses to go to the bathroom?
I also agree with what the other comments said...If you find that you think she is struggling please talk to her and realize that she might not think she has a problem. I wish you luck

When I was heading down that path in my teens - I would deny myself from eating and then when I did eat - I "punished" myself by intense exercise to make up for the calories that I ate.
She also might be trying to hide it by saying she is not hungry and wearing bagging clothes to hide weight loss.
Another sad thing that I did was take laxatives, and weight control supplements. That is very scary and dangerous - look for any hidden wrappers.
Good for you for keeping in tune with your daughter!

Take her to the doctor and see if she is or take see if she throws up her food. Or if shes losing alot of weight from not exercising or eating healty. Or if shes not happy with her size or weight and is very convinced to lose alot of weight.

Watch to see if she goes to the bathroom after eating, if she does listen at the door.

is she eatting and then purging or eliminating what she eats (going to bathroom immediately after eatting)? Purging will also start to irritate and damage her esophogas and teeth.
