I don't really remember the movie that well but I'm guessing it might be a Tonfa

I believe it was a cubaton. I'll have to watch the movie again. I have seen it in Jujitsu but many styles use short stick.

The weapon's called a kubotan...or "hand stick."
It's Okinawan by nature I believe....though some Japanese arts use them too.
