Please take your bird to the vet. I have two birds I found and which no one claimed. My vet is well aware of this and has not taken the birds away from me.

It's possible your bird was dumped because he's sick. It's also possible that he's so sick that he may die if you don't get him help. Birds are expert at hiding illnesses, so if you're seeing a problem, it can be quite serious.

Please, please, please. If you care about this bird at all - or even if you don't - please take him to the vet. Immediately.

So you would rather the bird died? You should take him to the vet I doubt the doctor would take him away unless he knew the bird and who its owner is. He would encourage you to at least try and find the bird’s owner, that’s even if you tell him. Which you might have to since one of his question might be where you got the bird etc. How long ago did you find the bird?

Birds can get very attached to their owners I have two. So your bird could be suffering from being homesick and missing his owner(s) or as someone else said maybe he needs his beak trimmed but i think if it was an issue with that you would defintaly notice I once had a parakeet whose beak would always grow beyond long so I always had to snip some of it off every few weeks. Otherwise he had diffcult eating and drinking

You can’t force a bird to eat cuttlebone, they don’t really even eat it’s for their beaks. To keep them trimmed and healthy

You should moniter him make sure he is at least drinking some water. If you don’t think its eaten anything in a day you should really take it to the vet losing it (which probably woulndt happen)is a risk you’ll have to take to ensure the bird lives which is the most important thing.

You might check out this site I don’t know if it will have any information for you but it is about the type of bird you have so you might learn some things http://www.cockatiel.org/.

Many birds get lost and it is the original owners fault for not taking care, and letting the bird get loose. The vet is not going to be mad at you. If you haven't had a bird before, it is hard to know what the right decision is. If the bird is lethargic and not eating, that is a very bad sign, bird hide their illnesses until the very end.
Birds are messy sometimes they eat a little and make a big mess, and it looks like they are not eating. You need to check the birds rear, It should be clean and nicely feathered. If it has poop stuck to it or the feathers are clumped or missing the bird is sick and needs a vet. Eyes and nose should be clean also.

The vet won't take him away from you. Just take him if you are worried. If you haven't had him for more than a day or two, nothing might be wrong, they don't eat much when they are adjusting. To be safe, you should get him checked out by a vet, though.

he could of picked up anything. No the vet isn't gonntake him away from you Hard telling how long he was outside. Take him to the vet or give him food and water and wait and see what happens...good luck

You should try to find the owner. I found a Lovebird once and the neighbor put a sign up and I called and gave him his pet back. It belonged to his daughter who cried for days at losing her pet.

If you don't know anything about birds, you might not notice that he's eating seeds and so forth.

found him? he needs to see a vet and the vet won't take him. You should try to find the owner before you take it in as a permanent pet.

Your cockatiel must not be happy with his home..Try a smaller cage...Or check with a bird vet...He could be sick...

His beak may need to be trimmed. Take him to an avian vet.
