Schizophrenia is actually a mental illness, not technically a disease, and it is treatable, although not always, depending on lots of factors such as family involvement, drug/alcohol use, etc. I know mental illesses like that can run in families sometimes. If you are asking if it is reasonable to get sterilized in order to avoid passing on a genetic defect or disorder, I think the answer is YES! So good job on the snip; now you just need to get all of your personalities to practice safe sex and stay on the meds!

Uh... with a vasectomy done you shouldn't have kids at all. So, you don't need to worry about kids getting mental illness.
