All week long I've had a cold and sore throat. Now this morning I started getting a sharp pain in my right sinus which afterwards causes a lot of clear snot to come out of my right nostril and my right eye to water. Is this a sinus infection? How can I get rid of this? I can't see my doctor because he works half days on Fridays. So I need to do something to survive until Monday or Tuesday when I'll be able to get in. Please help!

If the mucus is clear it is not infected. Infected is when it is green or dark yellow. Sounds like allergies. The ragweed is REALLY bad this time of year and everyone is suffering from it. Go to the drug store and get something like Tylenol Allergy/Sinus. If it should turn green/yellow over the weekend, then talk to your doctor on Monday. Drink lots of water-that will thin the mucus and you can blow it out easier.

Doesn't sound like an infection.
Get some Advil Cold & Sinus or similar medicine to use until you can go see the doctor. It should help with all your symptoms.

Try boiling water with choped up ginger root(produce section of the store) and some cayenne pepper. Strain and drink, caution it feels like drinking fire! it will help kill anything in your throat, repeat 2X a day till you feel better, and also hold your sinus pts for two minutes each. light pressure though, 1) under eye socket, 2) between eyes Nose Pinch, 3)Where cheekbone & Nose meet. and just feel around for pressure and hold.

It may be severe allergies if it is not an infection. Try sinus meds until you can get in to the doctor.

Just go with the doctor. Why delay a fast treatment? I can't stand when people who have sinus doesn't take cake of such of obnoxious dysfunction, they stink they make all kind of noises including snoring and the worse the tone of their voices is just awful come on people try to live in Harmony and if you have sinus JUST GO WITH THE DOCTOR AND FIX YOUR PROBLEM.

A sinus infection will have thick yellow discharge not clear. It might also have a funky odor to it.

You have a snotty nose and you don't need to see a doctor over that. You would be wasting both of your time. Blow your nose. No wonder health care is in a mess! Save the doctor for the serious stuff.

Try to get ahold of you doctor at his home. The only way would be antibiotics. You could also try your pharmacist.

if its clear, then its probably not an infection. go see a different doctor or a nurse practitioner. they can help you also.

Advil and sudafed can help. Try getting into Urgent Care, if you can.
