The basic answer is yes, but at what cost? Humans aren't set up to digest pasteurized milk. Breast milk for babies, yes. Cow milk, no. We depend on a lot of our diet to supply vitamins, minerals and nutrients but all of the processing takes most of it out. Pastuerized milk will wreck your digestive system. Be sparing with it.

Why are you asking this question? Are you concerned that your kid is drinking too much milk? Then stop worrying. All kids do that.

If it's a theoretical question (are you living on a farm with lots of cows and limited water?), then the answer is "to a point". Milk does not contain all the nutrients necessary for long term survival. You may develop vitamin deficiency (scurvy) and have problems with you GI tract.

If you eat normally and drink milk instead of water, then it's fine. Nothing is wrong with that (except possibly excessive calories and fat if you're not active).

Why don't you provide additional details of what it is you're looking for.

People could survive on milk, however it is not the perfect food and made for babies if you really think about it. You would get the water your body needs from the milk. People need water, but it can usually be found in other foods. Most contain various amounts of water.

If there was no water how would the cow survive to make milk?
I think we will always need water and as long as it rains there will be water (or until the oceans dry up then there may be no rain either).

Of course. Milk is made up of mostly water. But if there was no water for the cows to drink then there would be no milk and no cows and no us.
