Three time honored methods practiced by my Russian friends:

1. Pickle juice in the morning
2. Plain alka seltzer (the tablet that's dropped into the water)
3. A little bit of beer in the morning (this is the least healthy method, but it works).

The right remedy depends on your symptoms. If you just have a headache and are tired, any of the above 3 would do. If you feel like you're dying and your stomach is turning inside out, then you'll have to use remedies agains nausea, such as ginger. If your symtomps are minor (such as thirst and mild headache), drink some gatorade or sports drink.

Don't drink too much and you'll be fine, no matter the remedy.

This may not necessarily prevent a hangover, but it should help. Eat before you drink; greasy foods are good because they take longer to digest and carbs are good because they help slow the alcohol absorption. Stay hydrated - drink plenty of water before you start drinking, especially if you know you won't drink water while you're drinking. Sports drinks are good for preventing dehydration while drinking too. Ideally, drink a glass of water for every alcoholic drink you consume. Take a multi vitamin before you start drinking, and one the next day. Before you go to bed take two aspirin with a glass of water (of the OTC painkillers, aspirin is the best for hangovers - definitely do not take acetaminophen, combined with alcohol it could potentially damage your liver). Take two aspirin with a glass of water again in the morning - Alka Seltzer is a good choice as well, since it has aspirin and an antacid. Hope this helps! I wish I'd followed my own advice better last night :(

When I drank, I always ate before & went out to breakfast after drinking. Next morning, I had a vanilla milkshake for breakfast b/c I was always so thirsty & wanted to drink large quantities of water which made me water-logged. The shake cured the thirst without a lot of liquid. Then I had a cup of coffee & a tylenol & went on as usual. No hangover.

If you must drink dear, eat an order of fries or something before you commence to getting all lushy. Then before bed take a pain releiver or an alka seltzer. Then when you get up drink Gator Aide or something like sprite. . water, ginger ale if you are still feeling bad. What ever you do, dont drink and drive or let anyone else ever drink and drive. . .good luck and be safe

The best thing that I have found...is drink a glass of water every couple of beers and then in the morning dring a couple of glasses of Pedialyte. That is the stuff the make for babies that are sick....it tastes like crap but it has many of the electolyts that your body will lose because of the drinking. It works....do it every weekend.

The primary cause of hangovers is dehydration. Sometime before you call it a night, cut off the alcohol and start drinking water.

I have never tried this but someone told me once that if you drink olive oil before drinking heavily, you can drink more without getting drunk. Then drink alot of water throughout the night. Hang-overs are usually caused from dehydration.

I wouldn't suggest eating a greasy meal right before bed...I had Wendys one night before bed after a night of drinking, and it did not agree with me during the night. What does work, for me anyways, is taking two aspirin (like Bayer) and a glass of water before bed.

Drink some milk before you go drinking. Then have an aspirin before you go to bed and wash it down with a couple of cups of water. Of course you could always not drink, thats 100%!

drink one very cold bear slowly , have some food , (if you don´t experience nausea). Have a second one if you like but no more than three , then have some sleep. You will feel better after this.
