It's "starve a fever, feed a cold," since when you're hot you supposedly need to consume less so you'll cool down, and when you're cold, you're supposed to eat more to give you energy and warm you up. It's not true though. Your body needs energy when it is sick, so it's not a good idea to "starve" anything.
