I thought you couldn't get off work that week. Boss just won't let you!

It would be great to spend time with somebody you love on a vacation, but I would explain to him that you don't feel comfortable going on a vacation where you don't have fun and it costs you money. Or you could lie to him and say you cannot take the time off of work!

Doll - when you marry this man (which you have to be thinking that he is the one, otherwise why waste your time) you are going to have to deal with the ex and the family. You marry into that too... you do not have to go on this vacation because it does sound like hell but saying no may be at the expense of losing your relationship.

Why would you submit yourself to all that drama? I'd find something else to do and tell you honey that you'll see him when he gets back, and to enjoy.
I can't believe you've been together for 10yrs and still can't talk to him about how you feel and why without him respecting your feelings?

I think you and your boyfriend need to have a long talk. Sounds like you two have some serious things to work out.

I probably wouldn't.
But maybe you could find something to interest you on the way. And it sounds like you need help with your social skills. Screw her if she doesn't like how you do stuff. Kill her with kindness. You're not dating her.

NO, if he's not looking out for your feelings, don't go. He may not have the capacity to add you in to his lifestyle as much as you need.

Don't go. Tell him to invite his mother to his house and then go on your own vacation without him.

Um, no. Vacations are supposed to be fun - not trying ordeals. I'd say, "Honey, I love you, but unless you want me in an asylum, please don't ask me to go."
