Thank you for your answers. An A/C shop told me it made no difference in newer vehicles but I had my doubts. I always turn ny a/c off and will continue to do so. Thanks for your answers.

You should never have the Air on when trying to restart your vehicle, any vehicle, it very hard on the electrical system, always turn it on after its running, and or turn it off before restarting that's the key , if you kill the motor while its running will make no difference for the most, but make sure its off when restarting it takes 15 % of your horse power to turn a A/C compressors engaged and hard on the starter motor and start wires the battery and will in crease the life of all these thing if its off when you restart it this is fact. Great Question

Doesn't the A/C compressor cycle even without the switch being in the A/C position anyway? As for leaving the A/C on all the time, it don't make a difference either way. Me personally, I do turn mine off "a couple of blocks before I park" just because it does help to reduce the odor that would result.

Depends on year of truck. Some automatically do not engage the AC until the engine is running. On some of the older models it was a good Idea as it made it a bit easier for the starter to do its job.

Makes no difference... Ford is actually recommending now that people leave the a/c on or at least the vent in the on position to minimize start up noise related to the a/c actually

When I turn off my vehicle, I also turn off anything else that is running...A/C, radio, etc.
Just seems good practice to me...and takes so little effort to turn them on when you get back in the vehicle to go somewhere.

turn it off a block or two before you park, this gives the truck time to charge your battery up over the bottom point of running. that way when u jump in again it will have much less of a chance of barely turning over. also when you have less crap running when you start it, its not as hard on teh engine starter.

No you don't have to. I don't. My dad has a 98 F150 and never uses the A/C the vent air gets as cold as the A/C.

should not be a problem unless it is making a noise when you start the truck back up, which means something is going out in the ac and may need to be recharged...if it makes a noise when you start up the truck...turn the ac off before you start the truck then turn back on once truck is warmed up....good luck!

It is better to turn it off, cause next time you turn it on, all that trapped warm moist air will come out rushing out that smells terrible and will stink up your car really good. So, yes of course.

It really doesnt matter, but I would at least turn it off max ac, that way the rc. door will open and let fresh air in while it is sitting
