Reuters: An American helped foil a burglary 4,589 miles away in Liverpool after spotting suspects raiding a shop whilst watching a webcam over the internet. I'm surprised our police managed to turn up in time to catch the 3 perpetrators, however, as in 99 times out of 100 the birds have flown. Congratulations Tex and, as an avid user of webcams in your country, I hope I can reciprocate some day.

A report in one of today's newspapers says,
"he watched as they propped a ladder against the wall and smashed a window to clamber inside" It then says that he immediately phoned Merseyside police to report the crime but doesn't say how he got the number. Police caught up with the gang as they tried to flee in a car!!

Well done him! For actually managing to get a line from the USA to the UK and to the correct police station!

I'd like to know how he managed to get hold of the police so quickly so that they could respond in time to catch the crooks.
