I am 34, never married (I have been living with my boyfriend for 5 years) and I do not have any kids. I'm not sure I want to have kids. I love kids but I've never really had the desire to have any of my own. Everyone seems to think that I am terrible for not wanting to raise a child. Am I the only women in the world that is happy just being me, not someones mommy?

lol, I am 31 and am married with no kids. I also love children. I don't want to give birth, but wouldn't mind adopting some children. I get the same bit of crap from others, especially in the south, about having children. I feel no desire what so ever to be pregnant. So, I'm glad to see there is another out there!

My only answer is that you should make up your mind soon on whether you really don't want kids or not, because it starts to become hard to do. Once you make your choice don't change your mind.

My wife (early 40s) now wants to have a child and we have been having are terrible time trying to get pregnant. fertility treatments have been to no avail, we have only around a 2-3% chance of conceiving.

I'm 33 and had my tubes tied when I was 25. I LOOOOOOVE my life!!!! My husband and I travel, we are out at least five nights a week, no 'mom' clothes for me (I shop at Neiman Marcus size 0 or2), we can drop at any time and have sex anywhere in the house, never need to find a babysitter, I have plenty of time to workout so my body is perfect (not wrecked by babies), we don't drive minivans, he drives a BMW 7 series, I drive a Maserati Quattroporte.......should I continue????? There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with not having kids. In fact, I can't think of one single reason to have them!

Hey Girl--I'm 39 divorced twice with no kids. I too like kids but have no desire for my own. I enjoy adult activities and the freedom that comes from not having children.

I'm a mom of 4 and I say to each his/her own. Being a parent is a huge and forever responsibilty and you have the right to become or not become one if you so choose. When peep get in your business telling you your terrible for not wanting to have a child, remind them that you didn't ask to be here and procreating is NOT a condition for being birthed OR you can just tell them to go to hell. It all works for me.

No you're not the only one. I wasn't ready to have kids until now. I'm 34. I'm seeing my family start to die off and that makes me want to contribute to the family that's given so much to me.

Most of my friends are in their 30's and don't have kids and don't seem to care either. None of them is deperate to be a mother.

Nothing wrong at all.
I think your doing everything right if your happy. The hell with what some other people think - do you go around telling other people not to have kids ? Of course not, so why do they judge you ?
Keep on doing what ever makes you happy- and enjoy !!

If you don't want kids, then you shouldn't have one. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, you are not strange or anything.

I have friends who are in their mid 30's and don't have kids and a few who are not married, and aren't getting married anytime soon.

People are different. But I don't know why a woman wouldn't want to raise children if she could.
