Hi:
does anyone have experience with intercultural relationships? Especally (Europan Jewish)+Asian kind. Any quirks or hidden surprises to look out for? Possibly some funny or interesting stories that happened.

Thank you.

yeah I dated a whole bunch a white boys, one hispanic, and 2 arabs. (I'm Black)

(shaking my head) "quirks"?

I can not tell you any one word that would sum up all of the experiences, or by race. Everybody was different. The parents were different. The cultures were different

and you can't assume 'cause somebody is "Asian" or "Jewish" that they'll do "certain" things, because really being around any person, regardless of race they'll do some things and SAY some things that might shock the hell out of you and it won't necessarily be "quirky" or a funny story.

I ain't sayin' don't do it, but take it more seriously if you're going to date another race or culture

it might be because of the perspective that I'm comin' from, when I'm sayin this, but whoever you end up with will surely appreciate the extra thought.

my husband is from central america...he will ask me what things mean here. and, he can't get a lot of the jokes because he takes them so literally. takes the fun outta the joke sometimes to have to explain it! but, we usually laugh at this too!!!!
i don't speak spanish yet either, so that can be hard with his family and friends sometimes. he went home last month, and when i would call and ask for him, it was interesting! i'm taking spanish the first of next month!!!

I am Chinese and French, my boyfriend is Portuguese and Italian. There is a language barrier with his parents because they barely speak English. Its kind of a bummer that I can't really converse with them but then its kind of nice because they can't ask me a bunch of questions.

As long as both families can get along, it's no problem. And lay all your cards out on the table. Don't keep secrets at all.
