Not meaning to brag or maybe whine but I have you all beat. Purple plaid dress of triple knit polyester that scratched big time. Was way too short but it had matching bloomer panties and then a long COAT out of the same material. To top it all off, since the dress was so short it could have been a shirt, my grandmother made me pants to wear on cold days out of that same purple plaid. I was eleven and I remember being glad she didn't have a shoe pattern.

Oh my GOSH!, now you are dragging up the past. Where do I start, there are so many embarrasing moments?, being the youngest of four didn't help I got all the hand me downs and the eldest was a boy. But I do remember having a long orange dress with a brown, cream and beige panel on the front. My mum entered me in a beauty pageant and that hideous dress was one of my outfits.
Was my favourite outfit after that, because I won the pagent!!

I grew up in a country that loves to put little girls in colorful outfits. I have this one picture of me when I was four. I had on a bright plaid green skirt with a yellow shirt with ruffles; ruffles going down the middle and around the sleeves, and white sox that came up to my knees. I also had hair ribbons that matched my skirt. Apparently ruffles and plaid are big in my home country. This was an everyday thing, not once a month, going to church, or special event thing; everyday. My mother was a seamstress and use to make outfits for my sister and me when we were growing up. Our clothes had a lot of ruffles, pleats, and were brightly colored. When we moved to America, my mother stopped dressing us like that. Thank goodness, because we sure would have gotten laughed at in school.

Mine would have to be the horrible Christmas tree outfit they made the girls wear in our first grade play. The front and back were cardboard cut-out green Christmas trees. All we had underneath this was a green turtleneck and brown pantyhose. We had to have a shirt long enough to cover our panties. Pedophiles dream come true...12 little circles walking in a circle onstage singing "Oh Christmas Tree" with nothing but pantyhose and a shirt.

I don't remember a worst outfit, but I do remember being the guinea pig when it came to hair styles. My sister and my uncle would put perms in my hair, and back when I was young, they would put bobby pins in my hair and then I had to go to school looking like a nut! My uncle would come over a least once a week and I went to school with a new hairdo when he was at the house. I was so embarrassed.

Those Easter outfits - dresses, tights, white patent leather shoes, white gloves, and purses to match and an "Easter bonnet" that had an elastic thing on it that held it on your head. I HATED those outfits and everytime I see the old pictures I have to laugh because my sisters and I looked so stupid...but hey, my grandparents loved it and they've passed on now and I'd wear a stupid outfit any day if it meant I could spend one more day with them.

could it be the had that looked and felt like it was made out of a spotted pony and had a tail in the back and little ears? I was 10 years old at the time, and it was a gift.
Oh no, it was the clothes that my mother sewed for me in Junior High, a bunch of jumpers (not sweaters, for all you Brits) that were made of a material something like burlap. I looked like a matron at the women's prison. And we were not poor, my mother could have afforded to buy me clothes. She just chose to spend the money on herself instead.
