Parking is one of the most dangerous driving tasks for all of us. Parking Lots are typically high-risk areas where low-speed non-injury collisions take place very very often. Parking on the street should be practiced during low-traffic hours for maximum safety.
There is no maximum amount of parking lot education anyone can get, and I have seen professional drivers make the dumbest mistakes in parking lots. Take your time and find places and times when you can really practice.
One of the hardest things to learn about parking lots is how to spot cars that are about to back out of a parking spot. The little white "reverse" lights on the back of the car are a sure sign someone is about to make a move. Some older cars don't have them, and all cars have them in a variety of places on the rear of the car. The Red lights are parking lights and brake lights, the white ones show the car is in Reverse.
Parking lots are a place to be very aware of other vehicles.
That's above and beyond learning how to parallel park on a street, or how to navigate your car into a safe spot - which way to turn your wheels when parking on a hill, etc etc. consult your state's driving manual from the Department of Motor Vehicles. It's helpful. Good luck!
