the machines are tighter on cruise ships than in US based casinos. In the states they are regulated and have to give back somewhere between 95-98% payout. On the cruise ships, they payout is somewhere about 85%. I never win but I use a bit of self control and don't loose too much money. On a few cruises I broke even.

Somebody is always winning. The real question is after the entire cruise did anybody ever end up having winnings to take home?

What usually happens is you never quit while you are ahead. Sooner or later you don't have another activity so you go back and play again and you end up way behind. That is why casinos stay in business. On ships they are the worst because they know you can't go next door to another casino if you get bad luck in their casino.

Some people win and most loose. A girl I was sailing with won $60 at the craps table by betting with me and walked away a winner. I, like a fool, kept playing and lost.

The tables are the same on a ship as they are in Vegas or any other place. The odds are fixed. I have heard that the slots are a little looser.

But overall - ships casinos, like all casinos, have the advantage in the odds.

The House wins. Casinos, bingo, etc. are big money makers for cruise ships. Some do win -- how much, do not know. Just go and have fun and use caution with your gambling. Set limits, etc.

They may have won a few times, but in the final tally, the losses outweigh the wins. NO ONE REALLY WINS IN GAMBLING, EXCPET THE HOUSE.
