You are both right, of course. He does think you are babying him, you are being a mum, and that's what mums do.

I'm not sure what the rules are where you live, but here (UK) every bus driver has to have a criminal record check to make sure they do not have a record of being a pervy.

What is the worst that can happen? You could crash your car probabaly easily than a professional driver. He may meet some "rough children". Well that is life.

At least give him the chance. It is part of growing up. He wants to sit on the bus with his friends, and talk about girls, and make silly jokes.

He's safer on the bus.

Over protecting your child is normal when you are worried. Try to relax and know that he will be fine and remember that bus drivers are certified and know what to do to protect your child. Just remind him to buckle up and follow bus rules for his safety.

Too much worry can be caused by Anxiety. If you worry excessively about your son when he is not around or in the next room, you may need to talk to a counselor and get advide on how to control your anxiety. See a doctor if your worry does not seem to be normal to you.

As a mother of 2 myself I understand fully your concern but the child is right in this case. u need to just let him ride the bus to the program and let it be at that. If there is a problem an adult will let u know so dont worry just enjoy being a mother and have fun.

sounds like you are a very good Mom in a crazy world where you hear more about the nightmares that can happen to kids. If it upsets you so much then continue to drive him. when we were kids there were always the parents who dropped their kids off and picked them up right after school. you are the one in charge,do what you can live with. you control his world, not the other way around.

You're smart to be worried these days, but as far as being on the bus and the actual bus ride itself, he should be fine.
Just make sure you're there when he gets on it and there when he gets off of it, and it'll be the same thing for you, but it will be a good life experience for him.

I think you ARE over reacting. Unless you see disturbing changes in your son, or he starts to complain LET HIM RIDE THE BUS!!
I know it's hard to let go sometimes, but as long you keep your eyes and ears open everything will be O.K.

Are you referring to a school bus or public transport? I don't think you need to worry either way. I've ridden both and never had any problems.
