It really depends on the necklace and the cut of the halter. You should be able to get away with a simple choker necklace though.

That depends upon the necklace in question and the amount of embellishment on the halter. If it is a very simple halter and you want to wear a diamond pendant or something like that then I think you would be ok.
With a halter neckline though it's probably best not to go with a necklace at all. Especially if there is any beadwork on the collar of the halter or on the bodice of the gown itself.
Unless the necklace is very colorful or large it won't even be visible against the fabric of the gown.

after reading all your responses here is a great idea. Put a necklace on with the dress if you like it wear it if not dont wear it. good luck and congratulations. I am getting married in three weeks and i am also wearing a halter dress but never even thought about a necklace until I read your question.

No i would not wear a necklace with a halter style wedding dress. I would wear a nice pair of earrings and and a nice
bracelet.But no necklace. good luck and congrats

Yes it will get a thin longer chain with a pretty charm on it. Nothing too fancy or big too pull attention. But you can definitely wear a necklace with a halter.

I guess it totally depends on the look of the dress, but my initial response would be no. A halter style wedding dress already has the strap that goes around your neck and you don't want to overdo it. Besides all that it may get uncomfortable with them both around your neck. But it is totally your call :)

Necklaces don't look good with halter necklines. Wear some dangling earrings and a bracelet instead.

I wore a simple diamond pendant with a halter-style dress and I think it looked nice. I'd suggest trying a necklace with your dress and see what you think.

i like the no necklace advice, but get some really nice dangly earrings that really catch the eye. because with the halter and necklace, that's too much going on in one area.

Any necklace would look good with a dress in fact I recommend you wear one. Good luck don't sweat it you will look great at the wedding with or with out but I do think with will look better.
