I am waiting for my school to receive federal finical aid but it is taking forever and classes start on Monday(which is when I need to be paid up). I have no confidence that the aid will arrive by Monday. If I pay the bill out of my own pocket, will the school send the money they will get from the finical aid to me when it arrives or will they send it back the government?

I got a letter saying that the money would be sent out on August 18th but my school is extremly unorganized, so i wouldn't be suprised if takes them months to process the financial aid.

First of all, is this your first time applying for financial aide? If so, try and remember the next time to start early. By that I mean like 6 months ahead of time. The financial aide process is government red tape and it takes a long time. My daughter goes to college and when she first started that is what we did. Now it is just a matter of redoing it after tax season, which is simple. If you qualify for financial aide the money is yours. If you have to pay for it the first time out of pocket, just inform them to let you know when your check gets there so you can be reimbursed. I hope this helps and good luck on your college career. I'd go see the financial aid director. If you call, they could put you off. I'd go in person. Don't offer to pay yourself, or they will let you. Then you may have trouble getting reimbursement. My guess is that they can work something out so that you can attend classes. Good luck.

Call the financial aid office right away and find out. You should have had an award letter by now.

On Monday I would go to the financial office and take that letter you have and ask them has your money come and if it has not see if the letter you have will suffice so you will not have to pay out of your pocket.

The college gives you the check. Just pay it or charge it. Go to school. They will reimburse you.
