Sometimes i do some irrigation work and have to open up valve boxes. Well the other day i opened opened one and those big roaches (or water bugs) went scurrying all over the place. There wwere so maany of them in there it makes me nervous just typing it out. i screamed, the guys working with me laughed, but eventually i concentrated on the job at hand and was able to work around them. Honestly for me i think its just the way they look. ew yuk. sorry. i think that if i could get past That, and was able to study their survival mechanisms and stuff, i probably would find them interesting.

The scary thing about bugs is that you never know what they are going to do next, i.e. fly at you, jump at you, run up your pant leg or bite you. Especially those HUGE tree roaches, we have them here in TX and they are gigantic, not to mention they fly all over the place! It's not the kind of scared where you are afraid of losing your life, it is the kind of scared where you uncomfortable and are unaware of what this creature is going to do next! But on the other hand.... snakes, frogs, rats and etc dont scare me the least bit. I think they are larger and I can keep a better eye on em then a creepy lil bug that jumps and flies. lol =)

With the exception of spiders, I'm not afraid of bugs.
I don't want bugs living in my house, but I will usually pick up the lady bugs, etc. that fly in and put them outdoors.
Spiders.. well.. I don't know why but they make me hyperventilate. Possibly because we live in a state that has a lot of poisonous ones.. but possibly just my own silly fear of them. All those legs and those mean looking little eyes..
They simply scare me.
Roaches don't scare me, but they are dirty and carry diseases, so they can have the outdoors ( I have a large yard that they are welcome to) and leave me alone indoors.. and we'll do just fine.

I HATE BUGS.. especially spiders. I've never seen a roach in real life, but the outside of my house is crawling with spiders.. no matter what I do. The exterminator's been here twice this summer.. and he doesn't know why I still have so many... I hate bugs. They're creepy, crawly.. tiny.. you don't know when they're around.. and there are WAY more of them than there are of me.

Living in Florida, I see plenty of them. Not afraid of them, but they're not welcome in the house because they stink and carry around who knows what kind of nastiness.
Mentioning fear of them reminds me of a Raid commercial I saw back in 1983, when VCRs were just catching on. It was one of those moments when I happened to catch something out of the corner of my eye as I turned to look at the TV. Right at the beginning of the commercial I saw for a split second a light background of various bug outlines with the word AFRAID in large letters across the screen. It was there and agone before I was even sure I saw it. BUT, it was a perfect example of subliminal advertising that I saw FOR MYSELF. I'm sure they've discontinued it since then because everyone records everything now. But if you wonder why your fear seems irrational, I can tell you it's not just in your head.

I think people are afraid of bugs due to the fact that they are small, ugly looking and they invade your space no matter what.

Not afraid them hate them is the word for me if I find them my first and last instinct is to squish the life out of them first and then do something else!

Roaches are pesty, unsanitary and just plain gross. They lay eggs in your food and multiply in dozens... You kill one, only to find there are 20 more hiding in the cabinet.... yuck!
