I'm not entirely sure why but I think the Oil companies might not B 2 impressed with the idea.
What admit that the US really is a slave 2 the Oil.
I live in the UK & we're underattack from illegal immigrants, migrant workers, asylum seekers.
Illegals who have over stayed their work/visitors/education/compassionate grounds Visas.
I don't think there's much U can do 2 deter the determined.

Although your question might pose and interesting speculation on a solution, there are better ones. You got some good and accurate answeres in front of mine but there is not enough oil, assuming we even have a REAL oil shortage, in Mexico to justify taking over a country who's orientation is to populate to destruction, their own environment. It use to be folks down that a way could have 10 kids and maybe 2-3 would survive to take care of old Mom and Dad in their old age. That was there insurance policy lacking anything better. But now, more children live to adulthood and then they do this massive reproduction cycle thang. This kinda cycle is guranteed to cause problems. Welcome to Mexico and many other Cathlic oriented cultures. Those that believe this way will literaly, F--ck themsleves, their culture and the rest of us if we allow them to ...into the ground.
I rather suspect that if we threatend with a saber rattle or two, to take over Mexico due to their corruption etc., the Mexican government would suck up to the US Feds and do all they could to keep themselves in the fat of it all. Money, power and prestige is what the leaders of the world understand.
If we got into bed with them though, more than we are already, we would surely get fleas too.
Is 20,000 illegal immigrants enough fleas for you? We need to be de-loused ...from the top down.
Political leader and illegal immigrants alike.

How about, we kick all the illegals out, we bill Mexico for the resources the Illegals wasted, and then when Mexico doesn't pay, we take their oil and give them a kick in the teeth for our inconvenience.

Where do you get your info from?
Realize this, there is no oil shortage. All of the problems we are having is centered around money. The Bush administration is deep in the pockets of the Saudi's, his whole family is! Think about this, Osama is a Saudi and is being protected. This is why they haven't whacked him.
Take over Mexico? You must be on drugs.

I've been saying this for 20 years! It's time we pulled the troops home from Iraq and let the Iraqis kill each other in peace like they all want, then send 200,000 troops into Mexico to take it over. They all want to live here, anyway, we'd just be helping them cross the border by moving it south...to Costa Rica.

Interesting thought, but I think you would find deep opposition on both sides of the broder, being as it is.
Our dependency on oil will not be a factor in the very near future.

Sounds good. However, I think the Democrats would want to shut down the oil wells. They want high gas prices.
