There have been lots of wars, why is this one different?

Since the dawn of written history, different religions have claimed the "end is near". According to all these zealots, the world should have been destroyed a few dozen times over. Of course this isn't the case.
Those presently claiming (and often wishing for) Armageddon are simply out of touch with reality. They are dangerous and should not be allowed near children or to operate motor vehicles. It's pretty damn scary that one of these insane zealots is running the most powerful nation on Earth.

Christians have believed the end was near since the beginning. The first christians were Jews, and in Jewish tradition the Messiah only comes once. So those who chose Jesus as their messiah expected him to bring on the Millenium right then and there. Then he got killed. Oops! So then it was decided that there would be a SECOND coming in three days which would signal the end of time. Well, three days turned into three years then three hundred, but since day one Christians have believed The End was only a few years away.

It is not important if end of time is close, when you die, your end has come. at that time, u r not going to care about the end of mankind for sure.
