ok, I was talking to my boyfriend last night and I was saying something about how all guys are visual, thats just how they are programed and its normal. and then he started arguing saying all guys arent like that and he isnt like that. and I just really have a hard time believing that. he also says if he was like that then that would make him a pig but thats not true. I feel like he is just saying that he isnt like that so I wont get mad at him but I am mad at him cause I dont think he wants to admit to me that he is like that as well.

Yes and no. If you survey 1000 guys, 540 will tell you they are not more responsive to visual stimulus. If you do a peeper test which gauges their arousal by different stimuli, you will find about 790 are more responsive to visual stimulus. Then you have a society of women who want every boyfriend they have to think she is the most beautiful thing on earth, even though they will refuse the compliment if it is given, and wants to have something she can stir drama up with when he sees movement in his peripherial vision and turns to make sure its not a dangerous object being hurled at him when, in fact, its another woman. Those women tell every other woman that all men are 100% visual so that we can all live in a state of constant insecurity and arguing over who looked, who looked first, and "does this make me look fat."

To answer your specific question...No. If you trust this guy enough to date him exclusively then you either know when he's lying or accept it when he does. What does it matter in the end anyway? Do you always leave the lights on? If not, maybe he's telling the truth.

I think women are becoming more and more obnoxious as the world becomes more progressive. Has it ever crossed any of your minds that stereotyping 50% of the entire world population is a foolish and ignorant mistake? Accusing all men of being visual is no better than accusing all women of belonging in the house. I would think that a gender such as yours, that has experienced such a lack of respect in the past, would at least understand these basic concepts.

I, for example, am not a visual person. I pay far more attention to tone of voice and what you actually have to say. If you wish to categorize an entire gender, maybe you should notice that many men are no more visual than many women are. I am also not a sexist, and believe strongly in women's rights. I do, however, feel that it is completely wrong for women to stereotype all men, as it is for men to stereotype all women. I hope you will agree.

Hi Kendra M,

Yes, I would say that the vast majority of men are visual. Whether we have been programmed to be that way or we are naturally that way, I don't know. There are a few exceptions to the rule, like Dan (but, he needs to get a life), and possibly your boyfriend. :-)

Yes all guys are visual. Women were created to be looked at and adored for their beauty.

not all are. My ex b/f wasn't ( I wanted to watch porns - he wasn't interested, I wanted to go to strip clubs - he wasn't interested) After nearly 5 yrs he dumped me. I would have loved if he had been a little visual and loosened up a little.....

women operate in the subconscious, men in the conscious.
men do get more turned on by visualization and women get more turned on by being touched.

Everybody, men and women are visual as long as they have eyes and are not blind.
