Because we have the freedom and money to do it. We live in a capitalist society where the dollar is king. Porn is just as valid an entertainment medium as religion, so why shouldn't we do it better? We make the best mainstream movies, so porn is a logical extension.

The majority of "porn" is coming out of Europe. Then Asia and Latin America. The US is not that big in the industry.

Because the country is inhabited by human beings who have a sex drive. Other countries are also inhabited by similar creatures and they also produce porn. Why are you so concerned about it?
