Iam sure it wont hurt the dog. I have had ticks on me and my aunt and my mother used to put vaseline on me to make the tick back out of the skin and drop off. You just dont worry about the negativity on here your doing right you wont hurt your puppy.

Don't use vaseline! The very best way to remove a tick is to grab it with tweezers and put it in alcohol to kill it. Or, you can try a flea and tick shampoo first to make sure it's not a mole or dirt on his ear. Good luck. A magnifying glass helps when determining what it actually is, as well!

Why would you use Vaseline to remove a tick?
Get a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol. Grab the tick with a tweezers and hold the cotton ball against the tick. It will back out and will be safely removed.

No it can cause damage and possible infections. If you can not see the tick and are cocerned talk to your vet. If you can see the tick you can try what I learned to do for people that have ticks that is get a match lite it blow it out and put the heat of the match on the tick.that should release it.

u can use neosporin or triple antibiotic just smother the tick this will cause the tick not to be able to breath and back out on its own (if you can't dig it out) but make sure you wash it out after because it can cause dirt to be trapped in the ear.

Most of the "over-the-counter" medications that you buy for yourself are good for the dog. Neosporen on cuts, aspirin for what-ever.

Yes, but if your lips are dry it has little effect what you do to the dog.
