You know what is odd/funny in yahoo boxing, how some of the so-called experts can't see a black fighter beating a white one in the dream match-ups.
It reminds me of 2 things: how a black person very seldom gets Oscar consideration and what Don Rickles use to say, a brother couldn't get a dinner.

Basilio - W 56 (KO's 26) TF 79 - W pct 71% - KO pct 33% - wins over I. Williams, B. Graham, Saxton[2] and Robinson - KO'ed by Fullmer - #74 ranked fighter

Napoles - W 78 (KO's 55) TF 85 - W pct 92% - KO pct 65% - wins over C. Cokes{2}, Griffin and E. Lopez - KO'ed by Monzon and J. Stracey - #73 ranked puncher - #56 ranked fighter
Very underrated fighter

Napoles was never a Middle wt champion and Fullmer was never a Welter wt champion.
Napoles was a good fighter/boxer/puncher. Napoles wins in a late rd KO between 10 and 15 rd.

Very interesting matchup Brent F! Jose Mantequilla Napoles was indeed smooth as butter and a great champion. He was an excellent all round fighter. Carmen Basillio a former Marine was tough as nails and a very determined fighter I believe that Napoles would atempt to keep Basillio off of him firing hard jabs to Basillio's head with Basillio managing to get inside and getting in some good shots to the head and body of Napoles. In a very exciting fight I have Basillio winning a close decision.
