Why don't they prescribe this as a cure for all of those wackos? Do they work part time for Merry Maids?

OCD cannot be cured by alcohol - in fact it is likely to make the problem far worse. Nor does OCD make a person a "whacko". People with OCD often do not do the cleaning thing. OCD is a coping mechanism for feeling out of control (usually subconsiously). The symptoms of OCD are ways of finding a modicum of control.

Very rude and ignorant. WE people with OCD are not wackos at all. Usually it is a learned trait as a coping mechanism. And no, not everyone cleans as I do. And why on Earth would anyone willingly want to become an alcholic? That would compound the problem and probably make things worse, for one. My OCD can be very helpful in alot of instances. And only medication, therapeutic strategies, and self talk can help. I don't know what has you so angry at people who have disabilities, but noone on this Earth is perfect. How about looking at what makes you so rude and resolve that issue?????

No, OCD can't be cured by drinking alcohol. (My mother was both) Prozac can help. There may be better drugs on the market. They are not wacko - they just make great quality control reviewers.

This behavior sounds alot like alcoholism. It is not the answer, even if it does cure OCD.

you are cruel...............many people with OC medicate themselves (as do bi-polar, etc) with alcohol. This is a dangerous mix as many go on to become addicts and this is not a funny subject for families affected by this..........."ME THINKS YOU ARE THE WACKO"

The problem doubles and everything looks double. Instead of washing two hands we have to wash four, the two of our double. I know some alcoholics who are sticklers..
