pushups, crunches, and squats will hit every muscle and are probably the most important for any exorcise program. if you want to lose fat be sure to add in cardio work, running, biking, kickboxing. just as important as exorcise is diet. eat as much as you want, just cntrol WHAT you eat. eat more raw food, fruits and vegetables(mostly vegies) and eat less processed foods(anything that you get in a package.) drink lots of ater and get plenty of sleep. the absolute most important thing is dedication. working out once or twice will do nothing for you. you gain benefit only through eating healthy and exorcising over weeks and months. it will take a LOT of HARD work, but don't give up. best of luck to you!

I'm a big, tall guy and had been trying to get down to 220 for a whole lot of years. I tried practically everything and just couldn't make it.
Then I deicded I wanted to run a marathon and started training. About 1 1/2 months into my training, my body started changing and the lbs just melted off. After being over 220 for about 15 years, I stepped on the scale one day and saw 216.
Distance running is an excellent exercise for weight loss. Oh yeah, I was eating like a total pig and the lbs were still just melting off.

Herchel Walker (US football) was too small to make the team in Jr. High. So he started doing pushups, situps and sprints. I think he won the Heisman Trophy later in life.
If it worked for him....
