I'm complete christian but there's this sight called monolithgraphics.com that I go to all the time and "The Gothic Tarot"
is an easy way to get a lot of Joseph Vargo's prints but I don't just want it for show. I also want it for fun so I can tell my friends' fortune. You know? So I wonder, is it still satanic?

Don't believe in it, then yeah. One thing is to believe in satan's existance, another thing is to trust him. Don't do either, LOL

I don't think satan would bother someone who doesn't believe in him or trust in him.

It really depends on what your own beliefs are about the Tarot and what is satanic or sinful. If you believe that using the Tarot seriously is sinful - so would using it just for fun be sinful, because you would believe in your heart it is wrong to use the Tarot.

To me, the Tarot is not satanic or a sin in any fashion that you use it, as mainly is just used for meditation on a problem to find an answer through the symbols of the Tarot.

Its not Satanic, thats just Christian mumbo jumbo.
Its a real thing, a good tarot reader can read what going on with a person. But its a weak system, and the readers don't have a remedy for the problems that come up usually.
Perhaps there are people who read them for fun, I don't know. But there are far better systems out there than Tarot.

Tarot and Satan have nothing to do with each other.

But telling people's fortunes goes against the teachings of Christianity. If you want the deck then get it.

No, Tarot is solely a form of divination and does not involve "Satan" or any notion of anything remotely Satanic. It is acceptable to me if you can appreciate the art in a tarot deck. I don't think you're going to "hell", I don't subscribe to the notion anyway!

The traditional tarot cards actually have quite a bit of Christian symbolism in them: The fall of the Tower of Babel, The Raising of the Dead, etc.

First of all, you are compromising your Christian witness to your friends by "telling your friends fortune." Your friends need the Gospel. They need to know what their eternal destiny is. They need to know that God has a great plan for their life. "For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope" (Jeremiah 29:11) That verse can be applied to you as well. Besides, what sort of faith are you demonstrating to your friends if you encourage them to place their faith in Tarot cards instead of the living God? God loves you. I encourage toy today to recommit your life to Christ in fresh way. Let the Word of God be your daily guide.
Have you ever asked yourself why you find things like this so fascinating? The reason, I suspect, is because down inside you feel uncertain and nervous about the future and think these things might help you feel more confident.

But this is precisely why I urge you to put your trust in God alone for the future. As I have often said, predictions like these about the future are almost never on target (or else they are too vague to really mean anything). Why build your life around them or get your guidance from them? They are only a substitute for the guidance you really need—which is from God.

My other concern, however, is one that I hope you will take very seriously. These things may seem innocent and amusing at first—but it's easy to get more and more fascinated with them, and eventually become involved in occult practices that are not from God.

Don't be misled: Occult practices are not from God, but from spiritual forces opposed to God. Instead, put your faith and trust in Christ. When we know Him, we know we are safely in His hands no matter what the future holds. The Bible is right: "When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists ... should not a people inquire of their God?" (Isaiah 8:19).

It all depends.

If you're using the cards and you -believe- that they're actually telling fortunes, or that they might even hint at the future, then yes--that's a bad thing :).

If you're just doing it for kicks, then I frankly don't see how it's any different from doing a card trick. ;) It can be fun, and a little funny. Some times, you pull a card that depicts the day you just had, or that does later on seem a little prophetic--I personally never see that as being the cards 'actually' working, just a funny coincidence.

Only if you think it is? I don't think that Tarot is satanic. But I don't believe in Satan either. I believe that there is a God, or Higher Power, and I believe in Jesus. But the God that I know does not torture his children if we misbehave. The God that I know is all loving and kind and oh yes I believe that he will make us pay for our sins but only by reincarnation and we get to repay our sins through life experiences. Not by being thrown into this so called place "hell"...

Satanic can be a matter of perception. Chickens aren't satanic, but sacrificed chickens can be.

If you aren't using it for satanic purposes, you don't consider it to be satanic and you like the art for art's sake (Ars Gratia Artis) then I would not consider it to be satanic.

Tarot might be fun, but I don't think you get any accurate fortunes from them either.

This has nothing to do with Satan or God, or the Fonz for that matter. It is a type of occult practice, one of the many, which is not harmful or evil. You stupid christians I will never understand, and that goes for all religions, what a waste.
