Nowhere in the Bible does it say that if you don't forgive someone you can have arthritis. We live in a fallen world. One of the consequences of a fallen world is sickness. But for those who know Christ our days of suffering are numbered. We are going to see the King soon!
Just because we sincerely try to live the way God wants us to doesn't mean we will be exempt from life's trials and sorrows. We are still part of the human race, and we suffer illness and pain just like everyone else. Jesus said that God "sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous" (Matthew 5:45).

In other words, we often don't know why God allows things like this to come into our lives. But God is sovereign, and even when life turns against us He still can be trusted. He hasn't turned His back on you, nor is His love for you any less. After all, His Son suffered far more than you and I will ever suffer, when He took all our sins and judgment upon Himself and died on the cross for us.

The key issue isn't why God allows bad things to happen to us, however, but how we will react to them. Will we react with fear or anger or resentment—or will we react with faith and trust and peace? My prayer is that this will be a time when you draw closer to God, and you find in Him the strength and calmness you need. The Bible says, "You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you" (Isaiah 26:3).

Make sure of your commitment to Christ. Then thank Him that He is with you, and ask Him to help you trust your life into His hands every day. No matter what the future holds for us, when we know Christ we are safely in His care forever.

In 2nd Corinthians 12:7-10 Paul pleaded with the Lord to remove an affliction . It is possible that it was the same type of sickness , but I'm not sure . It is a good example of what happens to us . It says that we must endure many trials and tribulations during our life as a Christian .

I don't recall that being anyplace in the bible. If so, that would mean illnesses were caused by something you did bad, which I don't think is the case.

Buy her some Arnica rub, it helps immensely.

Um. If we do not forgive, than neither can our Father in Heaven forgive us.
Practice what you want done to you.
Nothing about God smitnig unforgiveness with a raging case of joint pain. Although, if you are bitter toward someone, it can be damaging to your health because of high blood pressure, stress related ulcers, so the healthiest thing you can do is to forgive people whether or not they ask for forgiveness.
P.S. Tell this friend that it helps to turn the Bible right side up when they read it. It clears up alot of confusion. :-)

If you read John 9:3 "Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. " My purpose in quoting this scripture is to point out that while physical ailments can certainly come from sin, only God is able to make that distinction. Our job is to work with what we have without being judgmental.

Hosea 4:6-My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
