Aww yay! Yes, its brilliant becoming a muslim and you have to convert to one in order to marry that guy (because he's muslim)...mashallah, im proud of you

Its a difficult religion, you have to take the good things along with the bad, the bad mainly consist of the reputation of the religion to the world, and the fact that it is so hard to be a good muslim

Good, well, you will find out if/when you convert

Allah bless you

You can go to one of your local Mosques to become a Muslim and a pro would be a new outlook and perspective on life. There is one big con, though, and thats that theres a high chance you'll be treated differently by a lot of people. I changed from Christian to Muslim and I'm happy and have learned to live the lifestyle. If you want to convert, good for you. If not, thats good too.

I'd also suggest doing some of your own research to find out if people are lying or telling the truth becasueyou know how all people can be.

I am sorry to say this. I do not think you are sure about what you are doing. Because you would not ask about " the pros and cons" if you were truely serious. It almost sounds like a joke. You are disrespecting the religion. Beleive me, I know this. You are almost treating the religion like an exotic animal. On top of that, you are asking strangers. I suggest you ask some muslims from Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is not a muslim country. It has a large number of hindus.

Now to help you:
-it all depends on the family of your love. If they are too religious it is a nono.Especially if your love is female. ( i dont know what you are).

Don't become a Muslim just because you wanna marry someone who is a Muslim. Do become a Muslim because you are still lucky to be alive and have the chance to do what is right. You never know when you will die, and then all chances of doing what it takes to get to heaven will be lost forever.
Islam is NOT a bad religion as some people make it out to be. It's a very peaceful religion and the only true one. I suggest you visit an Islamic chatroom and find someone who will help you more.

You're on the right track, Mashaallah.

All the best!

Marriage is not a good reason to convert to any religion. But if you have other reasons you'd do very well to talk to Muslims from all over the world. Islam is not only the Osama fundumentalist version. You'll see that there are various readings of Islam, and that in truth Islam is NOT about suicide bombing. It's about humanity and observing others' rights and giving you a different perspective to the world. The important thing is THINK IT THROUGH before you do anything. There are many Muslims who would love to help you.

And if you want to become a Muslim make sure you are strong enough to ignore the islamophobic idiots who want to label you, stigmatise you and box you with the suicide bombers (I guess you can find examples in the above answers..

a women Muslim faces nothing but the cons.
please think carefully about this, you shouldn't need to be religious anyway.
look on the net for the truth about the Muslim men and what happens to some of the woman trapped in this religion in fear of their lives.
not all Muslims face these problems but its very common, you must have heard of honour killings, woman having to walk a few paces behind their husband, and female circumcision etc.
i read of a Muslim women who was chained inside her home by her husband cos she had once run away, now she can only reach as far as the front gate.

I don't know about Bangladesh, but as a woman, I do know that their is no pressure towards pre marital sex. It is strongly frowned upon and respected by men and women. The Muslim religion is pretty straight forward and it explains itself with reason and doesn't ask you to just believe the unimaginable just to get into heaven. Not that I'm saying you shouldn't, I'm just saying this is how it is.

you'll be expected to do irrational things like shave your puss every month, breed like a rabbit and stop eating bacon. And for what? To be regarded with fear and disgust by the majority of the western world as a traitor. Once you're married, you come under the rule of his mother and/or grandmother. You no longer have any rights. If you leave him, the family may well murder you as is commanded by allah - or at least by mohommed the murderer in his fictional work the koran.

Choosing a religion (if you need to) should only happen after you have chosen God. It certainly should have nothing to do with who you want to marry.

The only person who can truly love you is God. Men may try but they cannot hope to be as committed about it as you deserve, so you should never choose another religion simply because the man you think loves you is of that persuasion.

There *is* only one God - there are many, many ways of worshipping or showing your love for him and one is the way he has chosen that you should see him. That is why I say first, find God, next, ask him/her/it the best way for you, then choose the people who best fit in with that around you.

You certainly don't HAVE to be a muslim to marry one but if he insists that you become one, question whether he loves you or his religion more! Love should be unconditional.
