I want to go on a crusie but dont know how, where, and when and what is reasonable price to spend, and what to do while on a cruise. it will be just my husband and me, liek the first honeymoon we never had the chance to take. i live in CT so the only close port will be new york or i guess flying somewhere else.

Try Carnival Cruises. They are cheap, but unfortunately with cruises, you get what you pay for. Try the link below. They always have incredible deals for cruises.

Also try an ocean crossing cruise. You can go on an excellent cruise line for cheap because they stop at very few ports and spent a lot of time at sea.

Good luck and bon voyage!

If you book a cruise far enough in advance, you may even get upgraded to a better room for no extra charge.

I would go to expedia.com or travelocity.com and play around on their website with different dates to get an idea of how much to spend. Some sites have hidden fees plus taxes (often $100 or more per person), while other sites may only have an additional tax (~$15 or so).

If you go during the summer, you'll pay more, as well as holidays and school breaks.

Soft drinks and alcohol are often pricey on cruise ships, but tea/water/coffee is often free. Most cruiselines include all meals into the ticket price, so that helps out greatly.

Most importantly, have fun!

You won't have to worry about what to do on cruise. There are plenty of things to do once you are there.

One of the worst thing you can do on any cruise is to accept those tropical drinks they try to push on you the minute you put your foot inside the ship. They are quite expensive and since you don't pay for it until you are ready to disembark, people tend to over-indulge on them. Don't be surprised if they charge you up to 10 dollars a drink!

If you are going to take side-trips on ports of calls, I suggest you book it through the cruise-ship company, not the individual ones. The reason behind this is, if you do it on your own, and if you are late coming back to the ship, the ship will leave without you. If you book it through them, they will wait for you. While you save some money by finding your own, delays are possible and consequences are quite expensive. (as you have to find your way back home...)

When are you goin? how cheap is cheap

Also from NYC is NCL- it goes South.

to really save money you can get a cheap room- inside rooms are much less but you may regret it. IWe had a room witha balcony at its so nice. suggest you go to their web site and check each room and prices.

The other choice may be flying to Miami, if the fare is reasonable, as in the winter you get more days in warm weather.
