RE:
I am painting my walls light gray. What colors go with gray?

There is no colour that doesn't go with grey. Gray is totally neutral. Just ask yourself what kind of effect you want. Your question suggests you're not much of a colour person. Neutrals look quite elegant together, and it's hard to go wrong if you stick with light shades (too many dark neutral are oppressive). Light grey with beige for example would look good, and a little off white for excitement. Look through decorating magazines for ideas. You might want to add a highlight colour, such as a few red throw pillows.

Well as a painter who has done it again and again, gray goes good with white. Yes white. I have always shyed away from gray because there arent too many options of what goes good with it if you havent painted the walls yet may I suggest getting the Sherwin Williams gray color called minimal ice. Its not a strong grey but works well with white Semi gloss or Satin enamel. You want paints that have enamel on the label otherwise its not as enduring as you want it to be. Anyawy, White goes best with grey.

All colors go with Grey. Remember that there isn't just one color of Grey. There are many hues of warm and cool Grey. The real key to using colors with Grey is to make sure that the colors you select, if more than one, look good together.

One other thing, try not to get to dark with the Grey. It can have the affect of making the room feel smaller. Have you ever considered white instead of Grey. Some of the most famous architects would not think of painting walls of a house anything other than white.

Burgundy and deep wine colors go great.

Go to your local paint store (like Lowe's for example) and get color swatches. Find a light gray color and see what you think looks good with it. The swatches are free so you have nothing to lose!

Gray is a neutral shade (it is not a color, black and white and shades of gray). Any color will go with gray. The walls are yours to decorate. Have fun!

Gray is a neutral. You can put anything with it and it'll look ok. Just make sure your neutral doesn't overpower your other (accent) colors.

I hope your room is bright and sunny, or you will get really depressed. It is a neutral color, and any bright color would look great. It depends what you want to achieve. Reds would warm it up, blues would make it cool. Accents with black or white or brushed nickel would look good.

Also, what room is it?

I would say...avoid browns and beige and other colors in the brown family. It might make the room appear "dirty"?

Depending on the look you're going for, here's a couple ideas:

blues and greens will give you a relaxed cool look. Especially if you go with lite blues and green.

For a vibrant lively look...go for red.

For a cozy, warm and comfy look...go for dusty rose and sage green.
