First let me say I'm an agnostic and don't believe in God so the bible quotes don't mean anything to me personally.
Second, there is a legitimate gay agenda of getting protection from losing jobs and discrimination in the workplace and real estate, and being accepted in society.
Third, The legitimate gay agenda was making strides, and in the human rights aspect of it mainly all the good people I know supported it.
Fourth, I don't agree with the blankey acceptance of anyone. Heterosexual or homosexual, if you have a parade and you expose your genitals to young children, for "acceptance"; I reject you and would prefer you to put your penis (not the asker of the question the hypothetical you) back in your pants. Your here your queer I'm used to you, but my 3 year old doesn't need to see your penis for me to be used to you.
Fourth, Republicans pushed the idea of gay marriage, already illegal in 48 states, as a wedge issue, appealing to the lowest common denominator of homophobia.
You see it throughout the answers to this question. Look at people quoteing 1 Corinthians 6:9. That verse says homosexuals won't get into heaven. Outrageous. I don't believe in God but when people try and convert me I just stop them and say look this is absurd.
I oppose the discussion of gay marriage, because America has higher priorities.
1. Health care costs rising
2. Jobs not paying enough
3. Iraq
4. Threat of terrorism
5. Gas prices high
So, for something already illegal in 48 states, my government is wasteing time talking about an amendment to the constitution to ban gay marriage?
This is being pushed more by the neo conservative cancer, then by a legion of liberal gay men who want to marry.
We see people doing this in San Francisco. Did they really love one another?
I just don't care if Adam and Steve go and get married. If they did and lived next door to me the sky would not fall.
I just don't see a lot of adam and steve's in society who think a piece of paper is more important than
health care
gas prices
iraq
terrorism
education
etc.

Although I'm not sure of the sincerity of your question, I'll answer anyway. I support two people who love each other and want to show that love by getting married. Man and woman, man and man or woman and woman. Taking away a person's rights b/c of his or her sexual orientation is wrong, horribly wrong. And people can throw out the bible card all they want to-I'm not buying it. People use that as a shield to hide behind b/c homosexual-ism is something that they do not understand (and probably wouldn't try to) and therefore it is "wrong" in their eyes. I do believe prostitution, among other things, is acceptable in the bible. So why isn't there an uproar about it being illegal??? Ridiculous idea right?? So is banning gay marriage!! If people want to use the bible to ban gay marriage then they should use the bible in it's entirety, not to just ease their uncomfortability with a different lifestyle. I find the small mindedness of people appalling, infuriating and down right embarrassing to this nation as a whole!!!

Why sure!!! As long as a gay male marries a gay female and they never wander outside the marriage. Don't like my answer? I can't help feeling the way I do. I must have been born that way.

I think it might be easier to call it something other than marriage. I support a legally recognized union between any people who want it. If you're an adult and you are capable of making youur own decisions I don't think there's any reasons why anyone should judge the validity of any kind of union you enter into.

I support civil unions that have all the legal rights and privileges granted to married couples. I believe the religious people can also be married in their faith of choice. This is division of church and state.

Yes, absolutely. It'd be quite nice to know that my boyfriend and I could live in the "Land of the Free" without being discriminated again by a group of people with a better than 50% divorce rate.
