legs r very important .. well if u regularly do workout u can do squating ..
it goes like this ..
free squating 3 sets 20-25 reps for warm up
3 sets of squating with weights .
3 sets leg curls
3 sets lying leg curls for hemstrings
lunges 3 sets
calf raises and then free calf
do it 2 a week
eg > monday than thursday
secondly if u just wana tone it ..
jumping , free squating free leg curls free calfs ...
remm working out for legs help u to tone ur upper body too

Do barbell or dumbbell squats. Add progressively higher poundages as you get stronger.
Either 3-5 sets of 5, 3 sets of 8-12 or 1 set of 20, 2-3 days per week. The weight should be heavy enough to make the last set pretty hard.
I would also recommend rounding it out with upper-body exercises as well (pushups, dips, chin-ups, overhead presses, etc.)
Contrary to popular belief, there is no distinction between building muscle and "toning". Women who have "toned" legs are simply strong (or genetically gifted, for the supermodel types). Don't be scared to lift weights!! You won't get "bulky"!!
Also, toned legs have less fat. You may need to cut some calories to get the ugly fat layers off of your nice-looking muscles underneath!

Squats! Lunges, they suck but they really do work, also if you have knee issues you can get an excersise ball and lay down bend your knees, but the ball inbetween your knees and squeeze for 30 seconds relax for 10 seconds and do 3 reps of 18 of those, seems like alot but your legs will look better in a couple of weeks do that 3 times a week. I do that when I watch TV at night. It mainly works your thighs but it does help reduce your love handle area as well!
