I did mine and it fries the hell out of my hair!!!! The thing is I did it twice!!! How stupid is that? I didn't learn the first time. The first time I used bleach...that is what my sister told me to do because she has very pretty hair and she colors it all the time....well that was really stupid! It fried my hair badly. Four years later I finally got a professional deep clean done and that fixed it. The after I had my baby my boyfriend wanted to see what I would look like as a blonde so he went and bought the bleach blonde hair kit at the store and it ****** my hair so bad. I thought I was going to lose ,my hair. I now need to get another $50.00 deep conditioning treatment done because when I was my hair and the shampoo is still in it, it knots up really bad and the I use two handfuls of conditioner just to get a comb through it and when it dries, god forbid the wind blow because I can't comb it at all without pulling a handful of hair out. So PLEASE take my advice and DON'T do it. You will regret it. At least have a professional do it or if you insist on doing your own, do a different color. Also when I used the bleaching kit, it didn't even turn out blonde. More like white with orange spots in it and I only left it in the amount of time it said to.

Bleaching your hair damages it -- and if not done properly it could be damaged even worse. Also, if the bleach is not administered properly your hair could end up not coming out the color you had imagined it would.

You should have a professional do it! Also, keep in mind bleaching your hair is expensive. You have to keep up with it and that means seeing a professional to do the maintenance.

Don't do it yourself!!!!!!! Go to a professional. There is a lot involved in taking dark hair to blonde. I was blonde for years but recently went back to natural becasue I was tired of the maintenance. Keep in mind that you will have to deal with roots on a regular basis and you should deep condition to keep it from looking like straw. Good luck!

Don't do it at home! Have a professional do it, at least the first time. You might be able to maintain the roots yourself though, they grow out fast. A really great conditioner to use is Bedhead Dumb Blonde...it's really thick and helps to keep your hair soft and manageable.

Don't do it at home let a professional do it, the first time I did mine I let my friend help me and it was not pretty, I had to pay extra to have someone fix it, just go to the salon..
