I know this is sort of a dumb question but i'm bored so who cares? My friend says that arrowhead tastes like dirt but it all tastes the same to me.

Also, what is the worst brand vs. best brand? What's the difference between purified and the other types? What is better for your body?

Myself, I usually drink Fiji, not for the taste though. It's just that I like the square bottle.

Sure, there's going to be slight differences between each. It depends on the levels of dissolved substances in the water. Mineral water definitely has a taste to it and that is usually due to a relatively high concentration of certain dissolved solids. However, all water is going to have some minerals or electrolytes, unless it is distilled. One scary thing is that bottled water is less regulated by the FDA than municipal water sources are by the EPA. So, you shouldn't be too confident that your bottled brand is more "pure" anyway.

I have had some waters that taste like plastic. I drank a bottle of Fiji water the other day and it does taste a little different than Disani or Aquafina but it was good. Most of the Deer Park water that I have had has a plastic like taste to it. Maybe it has been in the plastic bottle to long.

There was a survey conducted in NYC a few years back. People were served different brands of bottled water and asked which one they prefer the most. The brand names were not disclosed. An overwhelming majority went for the tap water!
Also, there was a report that the so called bottled water was causing increase in weight. Reason - the companies added inexpensive corn syrup to give a hint of taste which remotely would make tap water seem to be natural spring water!
To me, personally, its all the same...as long as it quenches thirst!

There is TOTALLY a different taste to different waters. Dasani tastes like dirt... and this might sound snobby, but Evian is the best bottled water I've ever had. It's way too expensive though, I'd rather just get the cheap-o stuff like Montclair or Naya... tastes just as clean!

I taste a definite difference. I like Ice Mountain. Some of the bottled waters taste really smooth to me and that's kinda weird. I do taste a difference though

Dasani and menehune tastes nasty. I read that they use tap water in the products. They also have the highest bacterial count according to internet. The Allegheny County Health Department in Pennsylvania reports
discovering high levels of coliform in bottled water samples that were taken "after a man reported that he became sick from drinking the water."
NESTLE PURE LIFE ROCKS!!!! TASTES YUMMY.

Of course. The mineral content is different brands actually make the taste. Filters, treatments, and type of bottle also can affect taste.
