I am no vet but I would say that perhaps your pup has a skin condition (like an infection) or not getting enough vitamins in his food. If he is eating all right and not showing signs of feeling ill I would change his diet to see if the shedding stops. If not, take him to the vet. Also, he may have worms, I would check his bowl movements to see if that is whats causing it. Good Luck!

NO this is not normal. This is a sign of poor nutrition. Chi's can lose weight VERY rapidly and go into shock. I would go to the Vet and get it checked out and have the vet tell you the proper type food. Mybe also vitamins

yes it is normal and no your dog doesn't have mange! but you should try using a moisturizing shampoo and maybe even some dogie conditioner. also try using a better brand of food like science diet. this will help. if it gets really bad take the dog to the vet and they may place the dog on some vitamins.

If its just shedding I think that is fine, but if it is losing its hair and creating bald patches you should definetly take it to a vet to have it checked out for problems with the skin.

It's normal. It's also about time for seasonal shedding. They have to shed their summer coat in order to grow their winter coat. And it's spelled chihuahua

All dogs shed, they are simply growing their new fur, that's why they are so soft. Dotn worry it's normal. My dog she shed's all the time and she shed's alot. Hes stilla puppy though, but his fur sure is soft.

Is it a long or short haired chi? Could be a skin problem or you may be feeding cheap food.

I have a short hair chi, and there is minimum hair that is transfered to my clothes, but nothing alarming.... a few strands here and there, if it more than this, PLEASE take her to your vet for a chek up =)
Best of Luck
