I am looking for a car to buy. But i am a college student and would like to know what is the best make/model car to buy in the market. I have heard that Chevy and most American made cars are the best but what about Hondas and Toyotas?

The best car to buy is the one that fits :
YOUR needs
YOUR wants
YOUR desires
YOUR budget

If there were any "best car" there wouldn't be so many makes & models out there!

I've been selling cars for 23 years & when people ask me which one would I buy........

Well MY NEEDS, wants , desires, budget , etc.... have absolutely nothing to do with THEIRS

All I can do is direct you to the one that suits your individual criteria.

Everybody @ yahoo has different opinions, as well as criteria for THEIR vehicles

MY 07 Hybrid Escape was a perfect vehicle for ME but it got sold on Monday so I've driven a different vehicle every day this week untill I decide to take another Demo.

GOOD LUCK!

Whoever told you that lied. Get a Consumer's Report Magazine. They do not accept ad dollars and their testing is rigorous and
non-biased. They are 100% for the consumer. Toyota (Lexus) and Nissan (Acura) have been the best cars running for the past 10 years. The closest American made car is 23rd. Go buy a Toyota, Nissan or Honda. It will last you longer and cost you less in overall maintanence over the life of your car.

Everything is what can you afford. If you want a used car then most likely go with Toyotas as they have the best resale value. A new cheap car, Kia or Hyndai. If you really need to go cheap, there is a very cheap Chevy out there that is not all that great, but is cheap. If you can afford between 20-30 K, then go with a Chevy.

Of course american cars are the best...but honestly if u are looking for an econo car, go foregin.(as much as i hate to say that, but oh well Chevys are still the best cars performance wise hands down) HOnda civic and Toyota corolla are really good, but if u want a econo car that is FUN and economical, go with the mazda 3...and actually it did beat the Civic in a Consumer reports comparison. Ive researched all these cars cuz im shopping for one for my sister who is a college student. Best milage...Toyota corolla....best overall car though(standard features, safety, economy) has to be the Mazda 3.

That completely depends on several major factors. Will you be driving somewhere that has lots of hills? If so, you want a car that has enough power to make it up the hills. Are you going to be doing lots of city driving, or more highway driving? I think that you might want to check out Consumer Reports or Car & Driver to get information on which car is right for you, but I will say that Hondas are incredibly depenable and reliable vehicles, and they are easy to work on and most of the parts are reasonably expensive.

It really depends on what you will use it for and what your budget is. Hondas and Toyotas tend to be more reliable that American made cars. They also tend to be more fuel efficient.

Richard B - Honda makes Acura not Nissan (Nissan makes Infiniti)

Try a honda, they are very reliable and safe. I have own hondas for the past 6 years and have never had a problem with them. If you are looking for a sporty type of car then go with the civic... But if you want sporty with elegance then go with the accord.. Good Luck Finding your car...
