Everone wants a cheap hotel- it doesnt exist-
Suggest you bite the bullet tand make a reservation as everyone comes that time of year. Not only willprices go up, but they will be full. Try the hotels on Broadway on the 40's and 50's

look for anything near times square. There are also a few on Lexington in the 40's-50's that are not far away like the W, MArriot, MArriott Courtyard, InterContinental - you have to shop for specials...
