I've been reading the posts here and it's always "if they became legal, I wouldn't have a problem"
I live in Mexico, and at the American Embassy here, I see very, very long lines of people hoping to get a work visa to work in the USA, those people sleep for days in that line and most of them come out of there with their faces all sad, because they were denied that visa. I think that this is the way they become illegals.
I know that there is a big problem, but if maybe they were given temporary visas, and someway made sure they returned to their country, they would apply for a visa again and that way, he wouldn't have to be an illegal.
The other thing is, when employers ask for a work visa for their employees, theyhave to sign a letter stating that they will pay at least the minimum wage in the USA, so this WOULD take jobs from Americans, but if they were to lower the amount, maybe this way they would have legal workers and the only people sneaking over the border would be criminals.

This way, they could arrest the rally bad people and leave the honest and hard working people willing to work for less than minnimum wage, to do their work.

To gokart: All that money is in the pockets of the politicians who steal what they can get their hands on. And this may get worse if Lopez Obrador proclaims himself president.

Wow, thekandbshow, no sympathy at all. No consideration of the fact that California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas all used to belong to Mexico and after the war Mexican people were forced to leave their homes? haha. I wonder how long you have to look back into your family history to find some one who had to fight to give your family a better life? Even if it meant something illegal?

It's also funny to know that most Americans were immigrants just a couple of generations back, yet they have no sympathy for people who are trying to become immigrants. As for minimum wage jobs, why fight for those? Why not use your God given right to a good education as a US citizen and then get a better job? Is it not even a little bit embarrasing to be so upset over minimum waged jobs in the most prosperous country in the world?

Really...so there's a lot of people looking for work IN Mexico. Well, that's a great thing, don't you think? Mexico, as it happens, needs roads, schools, police stations, hospitals, houses, all these other things, too, so why don't you lobby for more infrastructure improvement programs IN Mexico? If Mexico's got hard workers, and Mexico's got a 1 trillion dollar GDP, then where's the roads, the schools, and the rest of it? Where is it?
Hmm. Not under here. Nope. Not in here...where ARE they, goshdarnit?!?!?!?! That IS a good question...why is the entire Mexican economic model seem to be based around the United States? When's Mexico stand up and do their own thing?

Mexico could have a FOUR trillion dollar GDP if they'd just start thinking along those lines...

Nothing in life is easy. I honestly think that if it is something you really want you should work to get it. I know someone that did have to work to get into this country. She did it the legal way. She is against her own countrymen sneaking in to steal what she worked so hard to do legally.

Bottom line... it is sad that everyone can't come to this country but why should we have to pay taxes to feed and house people that don't pay taxes and bash our way of life? It isn't right. You want to be an American.. become an American LEGALLY! People do it everyday... why should there be exceptions for people that do not want to wait?

OK if 6 million people here left Mexico because of no jobs. How is it the rest of Mexico can remain there ? There would be no one amnesty.People have jobs there they just don't like the wages which is way the family expands more family = more money. As long as people in Mexico see America as their wage earner there will never be no real effort to change the country.

They don't have a right to come at all.

Poor people take out much more in services like education and health care than they pay in taxes even if they pay all taxes. Taking too many of them means paying too much for foreigners at the expense of our own children's education and health care for our own people. I feel badly for them, but worse for our own people, and our people are the one entitled to these services. Illegals aren't.

That is why we have limits on immigration of poor people. If they can't make it within the limits they need to be somewhere else.

That is what people mean when they say 'come legally or don't come at all.'

Better yet.....Why don't we let Mexico fix their own problems?
Do you want everybody in the world to live in the U.S.?
This is the best country in the world for a reason......it WILL NOT stay that way when 100% of Mexico moves here....or Iraqi's.....or Afghanistan.....Columbia......Should I keep going?

I completely sympathize with you....My husband is from Mexico City and it took us about a 6 months for him to get his green card....

I know what you speak of, my husband is also aware of the long lines to get a visa to come here, even for a tourist visa...

My suggestion to you and to any of those who want to migrate to a first world country, would be, to go to Canada....My brother in law moved there with his wife and absolutely loves it....

It was relatively easy to get residency and they are in need of immigrants, due to their aging population, they are seeking young families and individuals for a strong work force...Good luck and God bless....

No....down with illegals, they are criminals!

Maybe instead of sleeping in line for days, they should be out working.....huh?

Well sitting around waiting for nothing isnt going to do them any good. Get out there and find something.

its not that it isnt easy, it just takes time.
illegals need to be deported!
are you telling me that if you cant aford to buy a car you should steel it? NO way, you should take the time to save up your money to buy it.
same thing. they dont want to take the time to do it correctly, they'd rather break the law.
DEPORTATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
