I have been told twice now by 2 different psychics who my spirit guide is, strangely they both said the same name and told me who she was - a distant relative. Strange eh? what do they do? do they guide u everyday??

I believe in spirit guides, they are there to help us throughout our entire life. They can be the gut feeling we feel when problems arise. They can be the small voice in our head helping us to follow the right path. They are constantly with you. Most people have only one but some have two.
I have asked the name of mine and it was given to me, just like you did.
Yes, they can be a long distant relative that has chosen to be your guide now. Find some books in the library on this subject, you will learn a lot. The new age section.

I have several!
I do not tell people HERE who or what they are. I do not feel the need to entertain some of the people here with my FACTS!
People are just too close minded!
Your relation is the one who is your spirit guide, so 2 have said so be it!
Some people have more, in time you will probably get to see or know more.
KEEP YOUR MIND OPEN, and do not let anyone close it for you!
You should not come asking here if you are right or wrong.

I know of a few of my guides, I blend with them as often as I can when I mediatate. I am also developing trance mediumship and one of my guides has spoken through me once, which was wonderful. I have spoken to many other mediums guides whilst they are in trance and their wisdom can be beautiful. I have often seen their facial features "overshadowing" the mediums face too.
Our Guides are with us at all times, no they don't watch us while we are on the loo or whatever, but they are quietly there waiting in the wings when needed. When I meditate and if I have any questions or concerns I know that they will always have answers, though it's not always the one I want to hear! We don't have to go by what they say, we do have freewill, but they will endevour to gently guide us to where we need to be.
And they are not demons! Sorry, but I find that quite offensive.

Most of the answers you got are about spirit guides being human form...I never believed in spirit guides but had my mind changed for me.
North American indians believed their spirit guides were from the animal & insect world. I was told by a Navajo Indian on a USA visit several years ago (just out of the blue this old man approached me said) that he could see the shadow of my spirit guide walking with me. When i asked what he meant, he said my guide would make itself known to me very soon. I dismissed this but several hours later an encounter with a wolf (in captivity) made me think again..This wolf was considered the most savage of a pack within their cage, yet when he saw me he stopped by the wire in front of me and just stared...for a laugh i asked it to sit and he did..the keeper was amazed ...even more so when the mad wolf responded to every command i gave it..hes would sit, lie, stand and as i walked along the perimeter of his cage he would follow me..if i stopped, he stopped. The keeper said he had never seen it do anything like that before. Shortly after that wolves kept featuring in my life very prominently ...i know that my spirit guide is a wolf ..if i told you more it starts sounding too incredible...
I dont know about human form guides but i certainly believe in animal for ones.

The only true spirit guide is The Holy Spirit. which God gives to those who have asked Jesus Christ into their lives, a lot of mixed answers you seem to have received. The bottom line is, listen to the Christians who answer you.
Why? Because when you receive Christ into your life, there is no doubt whatsoever, of the reality of the Lord jesus. God loves you and wants to protect you and as you read the Scriptures, Jesus and the Bible comes alive as Gods Holy Spirit will guide you as to what is truth and what is false. Remember that Satan will appear as an Angel of light to deceive Christians and non-believers not to follow Christ. Read Ephesians Chapter 6.
We have to test the spirits to see if they come from God or otherwise. Also, we wrestle against the evil powers of darkness, and that is why we are attacked every day, in some deceitful form. The devil is laughing at people who claim to be mediums and to those who believe in them. He will do anything to deceive you from the truth and he is the great deceiver and manipulater imaginable. He will put different ideas into your life, that sound so appealingly convincing, that you will believe them.
Be very careful, trust in Christ to guide you by His Holy Spirit, into the truth and the Bible will come alive to you. You will be able to recognise then, what is from God, and what is coming from the devil and his effort to destroy your life. Christ however, came to give you life Eternal, and a home in Heaven. There are plenty of Christian websites and helplines to point you in the right direction.

Spirit guides are meant to act as teachers. Their name pretty much says it all...they are meant to guide you towards right courses and paths of action that are best for you. They CAN guide you everyday but only if you really listen to them, but in my experience they also prefer it if you do a lot of the thinking about things and choosing for yourself. They aren't there to make your spiritual decisions for you...they are more or less there to act as metaphysical spiritual counselors, giving advice and opinions when asked but otherwise mainly there to give comfort.

I think your spirit guides try and show you a path to tread, whether or not you listen to them is a different kettle of fish, I also believe they protect you too, I know who my spirit guide is and he works for me so I am happy with him.

I am a medium, and your spirit guide is your gate keeper to the spirit plain. He/she is the one that makes sure you are kept safe, and yes they guide you when you need them. No they are not with you 24/7, they need their time too and why would they want to watch you on the loo!!
Talk to your guide, and see what comes.

I don't think that a spirit guide is someone who advises you daily... I mean they could. they may say something really meaningful and directive just once that leads to your enlightenment.... spirit guides provide spiritual guidance. I actually think I just found mine. it was pretty intense!

I don't know, I wouldn't trust psychics but I do think I have a spirit guide only because the guy usually tells me when to wake up from time to time. I try not to think too much about this as it'll only creep me out especially when I am taking a shower.
